Rivers Running

Finally the rivers are beginning to open up more even though the larger bodies of water are still snow covered. And with the rivers flowing a steady stream of ducks seem to be arriving daily. Before leaving Stratford in the morning we noted 8 Common Mergansers, all female, on the Avon along with the Mallards. But in St. Marys there was a much larger assortment to be seen. We have seen quite a few Common Mergansers but it was the first time we have seen Red-Breasted Mergansers in this area.
