January the 4th and the roads are icy and wet and it’s foggy and snowing. So normal for winter in Southern Ontario. The Thames at St. Marys is still wide open and there are Gull, Geese and Mallards in abundance but not much else that we could spot there. But on the way home, the long way round, we did spot the first Snowy Owl of the year just outside of Sebringville. As you can see, you have to have eagle eyes to see them as they are so well-camouflaged when even a little snow has fallen.
