A chilly minus 26 this morning! Seemed like good weather to take a look for Snowy Owls without venturing too far from the city. So we headed out on the backroads towards Mitchell. And there were very few birds of any kind to be seen except for a couple of crows and a couple of hawks that were sitting in trees and seemed to be sunning themselves. After about half an hour along the icy road covered in drifts we were just about to turn back when we saw a familiar shape on top of a silo, the tenth Snowy Owl for the winter.
