Enough with the hot, humid days of August! So it was off to the beach at the Pineries for some sand and water therapy! And of course, a quick check in with the birds near the visitors centre. It was pretty hot but there were hummingbirds and finches taking advantage of the feeders.
Definitely feeling as though the summer is now getting closer to fall with the tall corn fields and bales of hay. We decided to take the scenic, less traveled route so we could check out the ditches and rivers. As we stopped outside of Avonton though, we saw a fire burning at the side of the road and getting pretty high. The leaves on the tree above it were starting to get singed. There was nobody around and no houses were nearby. But fortunately we had four of our water containers with us, and they were enough to put it out. Weird.
