Port Franks

While walking along the Ausable in the Heritage Forests at Port Franks there was suddenly a flurry of activity in the junipers. A flock of about 10 Cedar Waxwings were feasting on the juniper berries. I had heard that Cedar Waxwings had been sighted in Ontario recently, but these are the first we have seen this year.

After an enjoyable few hours hiking in the woods, even with few birds around, we stopped just outside of the Pineries and saw that the Tundra Swans have returned to the corn fields. I’d say there were about 300 of them, with plenty more to come!
