It’s not often we venture too far north for a Sunday excursion but last Sunday was another February day with open roads that are simply too inviting. We had been wanting to checkout MacGregor Point for some time since we’ve seen it described as the Pelee of the North! So off we went. And though the day started out looking gloomy, the sun did come out and it was a spectacular day! We weren’t the only ones enjoying the sunlight!
There was a bit of a buggy jam along the way though!
And when I first saw this lovely Bald Eagle sitting atop a branch right beside the road, even though I had my camera at the ready and was clicking away, I wasn’t sure it was real until it turned its head and looked my way. What a beauty!
The trails were pretty quiet except for some Redpolls that were busy feeding on the ground, digging up grubs I think. Yum!
The sunset and moon-rise on the way home were really spectacular! We also came across 3 Eagles in a field eating the remains of a carcass. You can see them in the distant trees below, one Bald Headed and two juveniles.
